“ARTISTIC POOL” VEGAS TOUR CHAMPIONSHIP GUIDELINES
Guidelines of competition are as follows:
1) $15.00 for “single” entry or $25.00 for 2 entries
2) Players may enter as many times as they like
3) The top 9 scoring men and the top 3 scoring women from the preliminary rounds will play in
a final round playoff with 4 groups of 3 players each at a minimum. Every effort will be made to allow players to participate in the final round playoff, but in some cases a “conflict” of scheduling may make it impossible for a “qualified” player to shoot during the final round time frame specified.
Note: If a player is unable to participate in the final round playoff due to a conflict in their playing schedule with other divisions, a refund will be made to that player for the “entry fee” paid that
applies to their qualifying score. In other words, if a player paid $15.00 for a single entry, that player would receive their $15.00 entry fee back and the next player from the preliminary round scores (position #13, etc.) would be given the option to play in the final playoff. If the “qualifying entry” was paid at the rate of 2 for $25.00, then $12.50 would be refunded to the player for a “no
play” situation.
Special Note: Any player with a potential conflict must notify “Dr. Cue” with a minimum of 2 hours notice, so that a replacement player may be contacted. Failure to provide this “2 hour notice” will result in loss of his or her “qualifying” entry fee.
4) All 12 players in final round will shoot 8 challenges again and will be given a “Dr. Cue
Scoring Bonus” based on their respective positions of finish in the preliminary rounds as follows:
- Players in preliminary positions of finish 1 thru 4 receive 3 point “bonus” in final round
- Players in preliminary positions of finish 5 thru 8 receive 2 point “bonus” in final round
- Players in preliminary positions of finish 9 thru 12 receive 1 point “bonus” in final round
5) Three attempts “only” will be granted for all “degree of difficulty” challenges in both the
prelims and the playoff rounds, while “special scoring” challenges will be scored as noted.
6) Players must set up all shots/challenges themselves. “Dr. Cue” or assistant will act as
official judge on all shot setups and scoring success. Questions may be asked at any time.
7) Prize money will be paid to all “playoff round” participants, plus special “artistic pool” awards will be awarded for 1st thru 4th positions of finish, in addition to a $25.00 APPA membership being given to each of the top 4 players.
8) $500.00 will be added to the prize fund by the host league organization and $1000.00
minimum will be added to the prize fund by Dr. Cue Promotions…with $1000.00 guaranteed for 1st place.
9) Shots will be done in order and scored accordingly per a preprinted and official score sheet. All challenges have been selected from the “Dr. Cue” Classic Artistic Pool Tour Master Shot/ Challenge Program. Included in this release are the 8 disciplines of “artistic pool” with 8 shots / challenges in each.
Note: Sources for creation of this program include, but are not limited to “Dr. Cue’s” Banks, Tricks, and Kicks training product for “artistic pool” (AP – 1), the Rick Malm Artistic Pool CD Training Manual, and select shots / challenges that are being used presently by the professional player movement, plus a few original “extras”.
